Karen's Fishing Report

Fishing on the Cowlitz has improved. Boat and bank fisherman are catching the second run of steelhead now.

I have not seen any more spring Chinook, though it is still early for them.

Boat fisherman are using divers with bait and pulling plugs. Bank fisherman are using shrimp, jig and bobber, Blue Fox spinners as well as corkies and yarn. It has been a variety of colors they are using.

Remember the steelhead derby at Barrier Dam Campground. It ends March 31st. A 19lb steelhead is holding 1st place right now.

They are starting to catch a few bass at Swafford pond . Riffe Lake is still doing good for silvers and Mayfield is doing okay for Rainbows.

Take a day ~ go relax and go fishing.
